A new survey shows how mobile workers feel pressure when handling work at home - and personal matters at work

A survey by Bridgeway partner MobileIron has revealed that 58% of mobile workers feel guilty about mixing their work and personal lives. The study, which surveyed more than 3,500 professionals across six different countries who use a mobile device for work, highlights the growing trend of ‘Generation Mobile’ or ‘Gen M’ – mobile workers who are aged 18-34 or people with children under 18.

A recent court ruling in Texas has raised some very interesting issues around enterprise mobility management (EMM) and BYOD. Saman Rajaee, who was working as a salesman for homebuilder Design Tech Homes, sued the company after they remotely wiped personal data from his iPhone shortly after he had handed in his notice. It is clear that no documented mobile IT policy was in place. The case was dismissed in federal court but is still pending at state court level.
